I am enjoying reading what I can on this list.
Thanks for it all and I hope I can make some contributions at
some point. One issue for now: There has been much said about
the White Rose and I naturally figured that someone must know
that Dr. Traute Page was a member. She - I am told - just missed
being arrested because of a last minute change of plans (I am
sorry for the Apocrypha, but I can't verify this.) She is an
anthro doc who worked in Chicago and founded the Esperanza School
that serves handicapped children in underserved communities.
She retired a few years ago to South Carolina. She is a very
dynamic and inwardly active person. You will notice that she
is listed among the advisors to the White Rose film. She was
always reluctant to talk about her part in it all, but she did
so for the film.

OH, Thank you Donald!!
I had NO idea - didn't read that far into
the credits!!! Does anyone know if we could contact her and ask
her to at least record her memories for posterity, even if she
doesn't want them to be published while she is alive?
Did you see the movie, "Blind Spot -
Hitler's Secretary"? I think of it because the woman in
the movie (mostly just interviews where she talks about her experiences)
did not talk about it until the very end of her life. If Dr.
Page were to become willing to speak, it would be like a counterpoint
of experiences!
I KNEW there had to be a connection somewhere
(sure, Christine, sure you did)!
It was very, very good of you to offer this
information. I would love to pursue it if Dr. Page were willing.
I wouldn't dream of bothering her, though, if she is not.
Best wishes,
Christine
